A reader has contacted La Voz to report the presence of illegal dumping near the Argana industrial estate in Arrecife. The woman says that she "has been walking through this area since she was a child and asks that the authorities act immediately to solve this problem."
The reader criticizes that in the place "there are hazardous waste such as abandoned sanitary materials, dead animals, trucks from visible companies dripping substances and fecal spills."
In addition, she also denounces "the abandonment and accumulation of vehicles that deteriorate the environment." "These facts represent a serious environmental and health risk, and it is unacceptable that such a lack of control is allowed on an island that is a Biosphere Reserve," she says.
"I request inspections, sanctions, cleaning and an urgent environmental recovery plan for this area," the reader concludes.
