A woman has contacted La Voz to report the death of her mother's dog and three cats due, allegedly, to a "poisoning" in La Graciosa.
The events occurred last Friday, April 18, and the circumstance is that the four animals died on the same day. The reader explains that her mother was sitting watching the sea as she usually does, and that the dog returned after walking part of the town as it usually does, but when it returned, "the animal began to drool a lot and expel foam from its mouth and died quickly."
The woman also says that she spoke with a person in charge of an animal shelter who collected the three deceased cats and performed the autopsy, who told her that "it was a poisoning."
On the other hand, according to what they have told her from the Teguise City Council, "they will bring dogs from the island of Fuerteventura to track and try to find the origin of the poison in case it is, since they suspect that the origin is from a specific area of Caleta del Sebo."
Therefore, they suspect that "it may be someone who does not like cats or animals and who lives on the island." The woman regrets the death of the dog because "it was her mother's company and it has been raised in La Graciosa, everyone knew it," she concludes.
