Órzola resident Juana María denounced this Wednesday at noon on the La Destiladera program of Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero the lack of water in Órzola. "The usual thing, we called and called since this morning and those from Canal Gestión didn't even pick up the phone," the listener angrily reported.
The company in charge of the supply, Canal Gestión, has acknowledged to La Voz that there are at least four faults in the pipeline. "One or two of them occurred during the night of this Tuesday," they reported from the company. According to Canal Gestión, these faults have lasted for two days and as one was fixed, new incidents were occurring. "Until these faults are repaired, the tanks cannot be filled" to respond to the consumption of the town of Haría, the company added.
These faults in the Haría pipeline are added to a fault in Tinajo that has caused water problems in Ye. "The pipes throughout the island are in very poor condition," they repeat from Canal Gestión. The neighbor Juana María insisted that she did not understand how "having a tank like there is here in Órzola, the tank is empty".
She also denounced that they have been "one week yes and another no" with problems in the water supply. According to this resident, the same thing happened during Holy Week. She also criticizes that the company does not answer the phone to attend to their complaints. "It is affecting the whole town, we are going to the skein to get water to throw it in the bathroom. What century are we in? This is from the third world".
