A mother has contacted La Voz to report the lack of summer camps for children with special needs in Arrecife

"The little that exists in summer are camps of 15 or 20 days in which you have to pay 1,400 or 1,500 euros and, besides, if the child doesn't want to go, they can't force him," she says. "For the summer, you have nothing," she continues.

In this regard, she expresses her displeasure at the inaction of public institutions on this issue, since the few options available are paid. "If it were still affordable, fine, but it's not," she says.

And it is that, in the case of this mother, she recounts that "it is a problem" when her son leaves home. "While he is in my house, it is a world for him, but since he leaves there, it is a real problem for him," she assures.

"I only ask that my son's routine not be interrupted and that he leave the house for three or four hours because the problem with these children lies in routine," she points out. And it is that in the case of her son, the lack of routine leads him to have severe seizures or serious behavioral problems

"Everyone tells me they understand, but since they are not in my shoes, nobody really understands," she concludes.
