A neighbor from Teguise has wanted to publicly express the discouragement and the poor planning of the institutions, Teguise City Council and Lanzarote Island Council, in the reform of a section of José Betancort street, in Teguise.

This citizen has pointed out that "due to poor planning," part of the road is being reformed, it has been dug up, and it is going to be paved in full high tourist season.

Thus, he has assured that "this poor planning is seriously affecting and will affect" the commerce that was eagerly awaiting summer tourism and that "unfortunately" will put "restaurants and shops in survival mode." To which he has added that "part of them cannot be accessed" or travelers "do not know how to get there."

Finally, he pointed out that after "bittersweet" months of "zero" sales, "some smart aleck comes up with the idea that the months of July and August are ideal, with the roads overflowing with visitors, to reform one of the main arteries of Teguise."

"I want to support local commerce with my words and I invite the Teguise City Council to find a way to support, in one way or another, the businesses that will lose all their savings due to their poor planning," he concluded.
