Members of the Democracy Society request the resignation of the president, Lorenzo Lemaur. "We want him to resign and show the accounts to the members."

They have organized themselves into a platform and have sent a statement to the media in which they claim that "Lemaur does not comply with the Society's statutes." "On May 8, 2023, the resignation of the Board of Directors was communicated to him, a situation that makes it mandatory for the president to call elections and submit his resignation. However, he chose to appoint a new Board of Directors on July 27, 2023, and also post it on the Society's bulletin board, despite not being able to do so," they explain.

Following this event, the members of the Society state that "he has not followed the established procedure and has refused to hold the General Assembly, in the manner established by the statutes, which must be convened once a year in January." "Since taking office on February 14, 2024, he has not convened it either, therefore, we continue to say that he is hiding something. He knows that the members' assembly is sovereign and is the one that controls the activities of the President and his Board of Directors," as stated in article 11.

According to the members, he "has dedicated himself to promoting his personal recognition," "he dedicates himself to giving himself flowers and saying: "Democracy is more alive than ever!". "He has no idea of all the activities that have always been carried out previously, well done, aimed at the members and with much more attendance," they add. They also point out that attendance has decreased. "Only about eight or ten people attend."

Finally, they criticize that "he has not presented the accounts for these almost two years of mandate either." "We are waiting for him to show the accounts, he disregards the statutes." Even in the first two months of 2023, "he imposed himself to manage the accounting and cash collections," they criticize.
