A reader has contacted La Voz to report that the Santo Domingo Convent, located in Teguise and the venue for various cultural events throughout the year, lacks bathrooms.

There is nothing in the Convent, just a room”, the complainant says angrily, stating that this has always been the case.

This situation not only affects the public at events held in the monastery itself, but also the people who perform there, “it is unacceptable for artists to have to go to the bar on the corner to use the bathroom”, adds the resident.

Recently, a caravan has been seen on the outside of the premises in order to solve these problems for the artists. This fact was the straw that broke the camel's back and led the reader to file a complaint with this media outlet. “If a public bathroom is required for a bar, why isn't it required for the Santo Domingo Convent?", questions the author of the complaint.

The complainant demands that both the Teguise City Council and the Lanzarote Cabildo take responsibility for the matter and find a solution to this issue.
