A reader has expressed the "terrible service" provided by the General Directorate of Traffic in Lanzarote. The citizen has been "trying to make an appointment at the DGT" for some time, although without success. "It's shameful, you try to make an appointment through the application and weeks can pass without any appointments available, also, you call by phone and nothing either," he revealed to La Voz.
The man clarified that "not even going through the office has he managed to get an available appointment." The attention they provide from Tráfico is "inadequate." "The best thing is when you decide to go to the office to try to make an appointment, and a security employee receives you in a very bad way, and tells you to make an appointment through those two methods, that they can't do anything there," he stressed.
The reader describes it as "senseless" not being able to access an appointment at Tráfico and having to try to get it on different occasions. "It's pathetic that to be able to make an appointment you have to look at the application about forty times, and without a response," he remarked. He acknowledged that in other islands it is different, "easier" to access it. "Through the same application you try to make an appointment in Fuerteventura or Gran Canaria and you have many options for days and times," he added.
The Lanzarote resident acknowledges that he is only allowed to do some procedures, especially when they are related to "paying the sanctions." "The only one you can do without an appointment is to pay a fine," he specified. Several citizens have already expressed their outrage at the situation, the man says. "Last Friday there were about fifteen people with the same problem, to the point that one of them, after spending two months trying to make an appointment, made a mess, all with some reason," he concluded angrily.
