A resident of Perú Street in Arrecife has contacted La Voz to express that the mayor is turning a "deaf ear" to the complaints of the residents of this street, who disagree with the works that the City Council is carrying out, since "they are removing parking spaces".
This woman has written to La Voz, after the mayor of Arrecife, Cándido Reguera, stated on the program "La Destiladera", on Radio Lanzarote, "that the neighbors were going to see how beautiful the street looks after the works". "It can be just as beautiful by leaving at least one row of parking spaces," says this neighbor.
And, according to her, the neighbors of this street are not against it being fixed. "Of course we want to see the street fixed and in better condition, but we are against removing the parking spaces, since most of the neighbors are elderly people," she says.
In addition, this neighbor adds, in that street "no house has a garage", because "they are old houses". "Where are the neighbors of that street going to leave the car when, for example, we come loaded with groceries from the supermarket? In the private parking lot of the medular, as the deputy mayor replied to another neighbor?" she asks.
The neighbors of this street have already submitted a letter to the City Council in which they expressed their disagreement with the works of the Neighborhood Plan and urged the City Council to review them, contemplating parking spaces in this street.
