A citizen assures that the Halloween events held in the Ramírez Cerdá Park are "illegal".
According to the neighbor, "the General Directorate of Coasts of the Ministry of Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge is currently processing a file to delimit the public maritime-terrestrial domain of the section between the Puente de las Bolas and the UNED building, in Arrecife, which implies, as established in article 12.5 of the Coasts Law, that concessions and authorizations in the public maritime-terrestrial domain and in its protection easement area are suspended".
"The Ramírez Cerdá Park of the capital of Arrecife is located in the land section of the delimitation being processed, so, given the aforementioned suspension, no event can be held there. Precisely for this Thursday, October 31, the Arrecife City Council, through the Department of Commerce and Tourism, plans to celebrate Haloween Day in the aforementioned Park", he adds.
"According to the provisions of the Coasts Law, the activities to be carried out in the Ramírez Cerdá Park are subject to authorization from the General Directorate of Coasts and Maritime Space of the Government of the Canary Islands. We do not know if said autonomous department has granted the mandatory authorization in this case. If it had granted it, it would be against the provisions of the Coasts Law. In any case, with or without authorization from the aforementioned autonomous General Directorate, the Arrecife City Council cannot excuse compliance with the current coastal planning legislation that prevents the authorization of events in the Ramírez Cerdá Park. Only one exception is foreseen: that it is an emergency work to prevent or repair damage. It is evident that the activities for Halloween Day do not fall within this assumption", insists the citizen.
Finally, he explains that in the same way, "the festive events of this same year in said park, such as those of Carnival, the April Fair or San Ginés, were held illegally".
