A neighbor was walking her dogs on Saturday around 7:00 p.m. on the outskirts of Guatiza, in the municipality of Teguise. In that area, she had always seen a large pile of tabobos remains, but that day it was not there. However, she was able to see ashes still "smoking". She believed they were "two charred trunks of prickly pears", but when she approached she saw that it was actually a much crueler picture, that of the corpse of a charred dog.

This woman explains that her dogs went to the area where smoke was coming out to "sniff one of the trunks curiously." When she saw what they were actually sniffing, her "heart skipped a beat". "Unfortunately, my heart was not mistaken. It was the burned corpse of a dog," she says.

She then called the Teguise Local Police. "They told me they would stop by and I had to call again on Monday, because the body was still there," she criticizes. This woman cannot explain how someone could do this to her animal. "I understand that there is a very large sector of the population that is from another generation and another education and they ignore the new laws and the progress of civilization," she denounces.

Faced with the discovery of this charred dog corpse, this neighbor hopes that both the police and the judges will take it "seriously", so that "this poor being has justice". And she wants the case to be investigated to find out if the dog was charred when it was already dead or if, on the contrary, someone ended his life.

Fines to raise awareness

Thus, she asks that fines be imposed, just as when a traffic violation is committed. "Let them create a body dedicated to this, an animal brigade. Let them impose fines, which I am sure would raise enough money and raise awareness among the population. If not, let them ask Traffic, see how we have become aware based on fines," she insists.

Finally, she hopes that "justice" exists for this "little angel", in reference to the animal.
