The XXVIII edition of the Arrecife City Triathlon – Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, held last Sunday, ended with the victories of William Cristofe García, from the Club Triatlón Los Reales, with a time of one hour, seven minutes and 33 seconds; and Melina Alonso, from Alusigma Peñota Dental Portugaletekoa, in one hour, 16 minutes and 21 seconds.
The start of the race, with departure from El Reducto Beach, had to be delayed due to the arrival of a small boat to the start area of the course.
Along with the winner Willian Cristofe García, the podium of the men's category was completed by Yerove Rodríguez, from Flor de Triatlón, 17 seconds behind the winner; and Luis Signorelli, from CD MD Triatlón, who finished 57 seconds behind the first.
In the women's category, the difference between the winner Melina Alonso and Dácil Hernández, from CN Reales, second classified, was 18 seconds, while the third place went to Ruth Brito, one minute and 21 seconds behind the winner.
In the scoring event for the Canary Islands Championship, the winners were, in the junior category, Juan Antonio Díaz in men's and Sara Roisin in girls, while the men's sub23 was awarded to Luis Signorelli, and in women Mia Leadbeater.
In veterans, the victory went to Pavel Castro in men's and Dácil Hernández in women's, while Gonzalo Esteban led the men's veterans and Angeled Pérez the women's. Finally, José María Pardo won in men's veteran 3.
The XXVIII San Juan Swimming Crossing –RCNA is organized by the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife with the sponsorship of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Arrecife City Council, Lanzarote Biosphere Reserve, Lanzarote La Isla Diferente, European Sports Destination and lanzarotedeportes.com. The Canary Islands Swimming Federation, Naviera Armas – Trasmediterránea, Más Deportes, Coca Cola, Kalise, Apartamentos Acuario Sol, Mangacamisa and Tripasión collaborate.
After the celebrations of the “XXVIII San Juan Swimming Crossing” and the XXVIII Arrecife City Triathlon – RCNA”, the RCNA is already working on the final details of the “XXVII San Ginés Swimming Crossing”, which will be held on August 27.
