At the controls of a Renault Megane e-tech, the team composed of Teo Vega and Juan Carlos de Felipe, were once again present at the Lanzarote Rally, achieving a valuable sixth place overall among the electric cars and ninth in the total calculation of all modalities.

For the second consecutive year, they answered the call of the Escudería Lanzarote to compete in the 2nd edition of the Eco Rally Lanzarote, where last year they could not finish due to an incorrect battery charge, so there was a small thorn in their side because of it.

With 11 regularity sections, where there were 3 of them with vignettes and one mixed, the race was expected to be tough, as it was, covering practically the entire island of Lanzarote, visiting the most emblematic places for tourists, but also for speed fans, such as the Haría Climb or El Cuchillo, among others.

Normally this type of races are usually demanding but linear, although for them it was like a roller coaster because absolutely everything happened, from problems with the GPS antenna, to errors in the roadbook (which only happened to them) to the normal episodes of interpretation of the signs and vignettes. But they knew how to recover from everything and emerge unscathed from penalties.

“It has been an intense weekend, especially on the day of the race where everything happened to us, fortunately we have looked for solutions which is valuable as experience for the next events, the Lanzarote race has unparalleled landscapes and it is a pleasure to be able to compete in it. What a wonderful car we have had the pleasure of driving, the new Renault Megane E has taken us to the final finish line without the slightest setback, recognizing the navigation work of my friend Juan Carlos, this is not easy, and now thinking about the Eco Rally of La Coruña in the month of September”. Said Teodoro Vega at the end of the race.

To all this Juan Carlos commented: “For us it has been like a triumph to finish a race where last year we were left out with one section to go. The driver and the Renault Megáne have behaved wonderfully and each race that passes are experiences added, which in the end is what matters and are vital to achieve better goals”.
