The Valterra neighborhood of the city of Arrecife hosts the new space for the training and circus training of the Lanzarote company Guanire Circo, directed by the trapeze artist Marta Nistal. The opening ceremony of the space was a dynamic and emotional act. In it you could enjoy activities such as a family yoga workshop or exhibitions of Guanire Circo students who, with their fabrics and aerial hoop, caused the admiration of the attending public.
The school offers classes in different circus techniques such as trapeze, aerial silks, aerial hoop, rope, juggling, acrobatics and clowning and classes are taught in groups divided by age from children from 3 years to adults of all ages. Guanire Circo will also teach classes in other techniques such as Yoga and Mindfulness for children, by Malena Vida en Equilibrio and in the near future will also have dance classes, theater, yoga for adults, pilates and flexibility. In addition, there will be schedules dedicated to the creation and free training for students and professionals.
For Marta Nistal, director of Guanire Circo, "the only bad thing about having such virtuous students is that people who want to try and see them in action, get scared and think that aerial circus is an activity for people who are very fit. However, the classes are for all levels, from scratch, and we adapt to the characteristics of each student. Everyone is welcome to these classes, both the "super athlete" and the "super sedentary". You don't need a great physical shape to start, you just need to have desire and motivation and you will get in shape in the classes practicing something fun and exciting. In addition, they are very grateful disciplines, in a short time, you are surprised doing things you never imagined you could do," he says.
Guanire Circo is a cultural company dedicated to the production of shows and training in Circus and Theater. This company was founded by Marta Nistal in 2018, upon returning to Lanzarote after extensive training and artistic and pedagogical experience in places such as Barcelona, France and Switzerland.
Love for the circus, culture and moving arts
Guanire's productions have seen the light in numerous circus festivals and theaters both in the Canary Islands and internationally. Since 2010 Marta Nistal teaches classes in numerous circus and aerial dance schools in Barcelona, France and Switzerland and from 2019 to 2022 teaches aerial circus classes at the Espacio Airearte in Costa Teguise. Now he inaugurates his own space where you can breathe love for the circus, culture and the arts of movement.
