Unión Sur Yaiza missed a golden opportunity to consolidate their fourth place in the standings and increase their advantage over the teams chasing them in the standings. The southerners once again showed that their pending issue continues to be scoring goals, having many problems breaking through the opposing goal and generating dangerous actions. The team coached by Carlos Ramírez could not get past a goalless draw against UD Ibarra. Despite the tie, Unión Sur Yaiza maintains fourth place in the standings, benefiting from the setback of the other teams in the top zone of the standings.
The match started well for the interests of Unión Sur Yaiza and the Lanzarote team took just seven minutes to create the first dangerous chance of the match. A bad pass from goalkeeper Josimar was taken advantage of by Miguel Yunes, the striker stood alone inside the area and his shot went wide of the post.
The first minutes of the match were marked by the fight, being a match of power to power. Pedro Manzi was in charge of putting Ibarra's reply to Yaiza's first dangerous action. A good collective play by the team was culminated by the striker and his shot was caught low by Ruymán. The goalkeeper returned to the starting eleven in this match, after several matches being a substitute for Doramas.
Miguel Yunes tried again in the 16th minute of the first half. The striker made an oriented control, entered the area and his deflected shot was caught by goalkeeper Josimar. Ibarra tried with a good play in the vicinity of the area between Cristian and Juan Ramón, and the cross was headed by Manzi who did not find the three posts of the goal.
The chances continued to happen in one and another goal. Ubay executed a free kick from the front of the area and the Ibarra goalkeeper blocked the ball without excessive problems. And Miguel Yunes with a toe-poke shot was about to take advantage of a good cross from Javi Morales.
In the first part of the match there was also time for controversy. In the 37th minute, Matías made a "hat" to Ruymán to save his desperate exit and when he intended to finish he fell inside the area. The referee did not point to the penalty spot and the visitors protested the action. With the goalless draw on the scoreboard, the first part of the match came to an end.
The second half began with a Unión Sur Yaiza that went in search of the goal that would put them ahead on the scoreboard. Miguel Yunes with a distant shot, Ubay with an angled shot that Josimar stopped safely and a strong shot from Kamara from the edge of the area that went over the crossbar, were the first dangerous actions of the locals in this first part of the match.
As the minutes went by, the pace of the match declined and the interest was only maintained by the uncertainty of the result. UD Ibarra also tried, showing that they were not satisfied with the draw reflected on the scoreboard. A shot from Sandro that went over the crossbar and a low shot from Pedro Manzi that found the response of goalkeeper Ruymán.
The last chance of the match was for the local team. A shot from Fouad from inside the area was rejected by a defender. There was no time for more and with the goalless draw the match came to an end. Despite the draw, Unión Sur Yaiza maintains fourth place in the standings, not taking advantage of the setback of the Lanzarote team by Sporting San José, CD Tenerife "B" and Villa de Santa Brígida.
