The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo and the Councilor for Equality, Myriam Barros attended last Sunday the fight in commemoration of International Women's Day held in the Campo de Lucha ‘Emilio Machín’ of Uga.
In its sixth edition, this event brought together fighters from different clubs from all over the Archipelago, gathered in two teams: the Timanfaya and the ICO.
The president valued the celebration of this evening for the claim of women in vernacular sport and to make visible the participation of the female group in the practice of Canarian wrestling.
In addition, she highlighted the "success of the fight and the great reception by the public" and congratulated the Timanfaya fighters for their victory in this exhibition and all the participants for the good role shown.
