The UD Lanzarote squad that will face the second part of the season will bear little resemblance to the current squad. Many changes are expected in the first team of the rojillo team and the Technical Secretariat is working hard to put together a squad with guarantees. UD Lanzarote has confirmed the signing of Jonathan Torres, with the forward becoming the first winter signing.
Jonathan Torres Hernández returns to UD Lanzarote, a team in which he has played on several occasions. Last season, he defended the colors of the rojillo team, being one of the players who participated the most. Born on December 11, 1977, he plays as a center forward and returns with the purpose of contributing goals to the team.
He started this season at Alicante CF, a team in Group III of the Second Division, from which he disassociated himself a few weeks ago. Delays in the payment of monthly salaries was one of the reasons that led him to make that determination and return to the island of Lanzarote. With the Alicante team, he played 5 games, two of them as a starter, and in which he was on the field for 313 minutes.
Last season he was one of the key pieces in the schemes of Luis Rueda at first and Carmelo Hernández later. With the rojillo team, he played a total of 32 games, in which he scored 8 goals and enjoyed 2763 minutes of play.
The Board of Directors of UD Lanzarote and Jonathan Torres reached an agreement on Wednesday afternoon, which was reflected in the signing of the contract that will link the player with UD Lanzarote until the end of the season. Jonathan Torres is scheduled to join the team's training sessions next Monday.
The Technical Secretariat of UD Lanzarote, led by José Antonio Sosa Espinel, is working hard to reinforce the squad for the second part of the season. It is expected that the signing of new players will be closed in the coming days and at this time conversations are being held to reinforce the goal and especially the defensive line.
So far there have been no casualties in the first team of UD Lanzarote, although it is expected that they will be communicated in the coming days. As the club closes the signing of new players, it will communicate the casualties and be able to leave free federative licenses.
Last training session of the week
The first team of UD Lanzarote developed on Wednesday afternoon the last training session of the week. A preparatory session that took place in the facilities of Puerto del Arrecife. Maciot and Jona trained at a slower pace and did not exercise with the group.
Wednesday's training was purely physical, with the physical trainer of the first team, Maykel Santana, in charge of leading the work session. Maikel Padrón, recovering from a work accident, and Ian, with permission from the club to spend Christmas in England with his family, were not present at Wednesday's training.
For their part, Maciot and Jona, limited themselves to performing continuous running exercises around the field. Maciot is recovering from the muscle strain he suffered last week and Jona is still recovering from the fracture he suffers in one of his fingers and that prevent him from training with the group.
The first team of UD Lanzarote will enjoy a mini vacation for the rest of the week and will be back in training on Monday. From Monday, December 28, the rojillos will begin to prepare for the league commitment against UD Vecindario.
