UD Lanzarote loses victory in the final minutes (2-1)

UD Lanzarote suffered their first defeat of the season this weekend, falling 2-1 on their visit to UD Tamaraceite. The possibility of adding the three points that were at stake vanished for the Rojillo team in the minutes of the second half's extension, with the Gran Canaria team coming back from the goal scored by Nadjib, which put Juan Carlos Socorro's team ahead.

The first part of the match was quite even, with UD Lanzarote dominating the first minutes, but seeing how Tamaraceite gradually balanced the forces on the field. An incursion by Alex Cruz on the right, with a high shot, and a shot by Ayoze Pérez, were the few chances generated by the Rojillos.

The development of the match did not change excessively in the second half, although Tamaraceite was the one that dominated timidly and had more of the ball in its possession. UD Lanzarote took the lead around the half hour mark, after stealing the ball in the center of the field and Nadjib's shot from the midfield area made it 0-1.

UD Lanzarote had to play the final minutes of the match with one less player on the field, with central defender Javi Mayor being sent off with a double yellow card. Tamaraceite went in search of the equalizing goal, with the equalizer coming in the 94th minute, when Julio Rengel took advantage of a ball hung into the heart of the area.

And when eight minutes had passed over the regulation time, the second goal of UD Tamaraceite arrived. Bruno García was in charge of executing a free kick from the front of the area, beating goalkeeper Ruymán.
