Arucas CF - UD Lanzarote

After last week's setback against UD San Fernando, UD Lanzarote returns to winning ways, beating Arucas CF 2-3 and putting on a very serious performance at Manuel Pablo. The Rojillos let a two-goal lead slip, an adverse score that Arucas equalized at the start of the second half. Javi Martín scored the winning goal fifteen minutes from the end of the match.

UD Lanzarote was far superior to their rival in the first half of the match, suffering the injury of central defender Javi Mayor in the first few minutes. The Rojillos were more intense than their rival, winning all the divided balls and getting closer with danger. A header from Álvaro Iglesias and a long-range shot from Adrián Machín were the first chances. In the middle of the first half, UD Lanzarote took a two-goal lead.

In the 22nd minute, a corner kick taken by Ale Fuentes was headed in by Raúl at the far post. And just three minutes later, Álvaro Iglesias put a ball between the lines for Adrián Machín to send it into the back of the net.

Arucas CF reduced the deficit before the break, with a powerful shot from Yadam from the edge of the area that beat Ruymán. At the start of the second half, the locals established the tie, with Yadam again scoring, with an unlikely shot from the vicinity of the area.

UD Lanzarote once again showed personality and went in search of the winning goal. A goal that would arrive with fifteen minutes left in the match, after a throw-in in which Javi Martín accommodated the ball to his left leg and with a crossed shot beat goalkeeper Álvaro Robles.

2-3 victory for UD Lanzarote in their visit to Arucas CF, three points that allow them to be placed two points behind UD San Fernando and UD Las Palmas Atlético, teams that currently lead the standings. The Rojillos will play as visitors again next week, traveling to Gran Canaria to face UD Villa de Santa Brígida.
