The excellent performance of UD Lanzarote in the Canarian group of the Third Division is not the result of chance, but of the good work that the team has been doing and that is reflected in the results it has achieved this season. 19 points out of the last 21 that have been at stake, almost two months without knowing defeat, are numbers that allow the "rojillo" team to be at the top of the Third Division standings. On Sunday afternoon, UD Lanzarote won 4-2 against Tenisca, in a match that they had on track in the first half and that saw how it became complicated in the final stretch of the second half. A hat-trick by Rosmen guided the "rojillos" to a new victory and increased the differences with respect to the pursuers.
The first minutes of the match were tentative, with UD Lanzarote trying to control the ball and eagerly searching the rival's defense. The first blow from the local team would come in the 14th minute and it came in the form of a goal. Marcos Cabrera was in charge of executing a free kick from the left side, he put the ball in the second post and there Kennedy was free of marking to head into the back of the net.
The second blow to Tenisca's menthol would come in the 19th minute. New set-piece action, the free kick from the right side was executed by Marcos Cabrera and Rosmen headed in the second for the local team. Tenisca was beginning to feel the casualties in the defensive line and was very weak in set-piece actions and in the aerial game.
Tenisca could have reduced the deficit in the 24th minute of the first half. Riki recovered a ball in the center of the field, saw Chema's entry on the right, he cut inside the area and his shot went weakly into the hands of goalkeeper Agoney. UD Lanzarote's response came in the form of a goal in the 30th minute of the match. A good cross from the right wing was headed by Rosmen, crossing the header so that it lodged inside the goal defended by Borja.
The players from La Palma had several new faces in the starting eleven, with the debut of striker Nacho Quirino and midfielder Sota, who pleased the time they were on the field. Nacho Quirino, former player of Conquense, could have reduced the deficit in the 34th minute. His shot from inside the area did not find the three posts of the goal defended by Agoney. With the score of 3-0, the first half came to an end at the Ciudad Deportiva Lanzarote.
The quality and intensity of the game dropped a few notches in the second half. With a large score, UD Lanzarote took their foot off the accelerator and dedicated themselves to controlling the match, not seeing that Tenisca was capable of creating danger. Most of the game took place in the center of the field and even the coach of UD Lanzarote, Adolfo Pérez, made some tactical changes placing Ignacio as a central defender or Kennedy on the left side. Sota could have reduced the deficit for Tenisca, but his shot in front of goal was lost over the crossbar.
In the 75th minute, Sota starred in a good play on the left wing, he gave it to Chema and he was knocked down inside the area, with the referee pointing to the maximum penalty. Nacho Quirino was in charge of executing the penalty and making it 3-1 on the scoreboard. Just four minutes later, UD Lanzarote was left with numerical inferiority, with Jesús being sent off with a double yellow card.
Tenisca believed in their chances of scoring at the Ciudad Deportiva Lanzarote when, with nine minutes remaining in the match, Nacho Quirino scored the second goal for the team from La Palma. A loose ball inside the area was headed by Nacho Quirino into the back of the net. The second goal gave wings to Tenisca, starting to hang balls inside the area and UD Lanzarote defending with order.
The sentence would come in the last minute of the match. Toñito and Mauri starred in a wall pass on the edge of the area, Toñito enters, Camacho arrives late to the cut and ends up knocking down Toñito. The clear action was punished as a penalty by the referee. Rosmen completed his great afternoon, scoring the third goal in his personal account and the fourth for UD Lanzarote.
The victory did not escape from the Ciudad Deportiva Lanzarote, with the "rojillo" team adding a new victory as a local, consolidating its leadership in the Third Division and increasing the difference with respect to the teams that pursue it. Adolfo Pérez's team has eleven points of advantage over the fifth classified and four over CD Mensajero and CD Marino, teams that share the second place in the classification.
