The CD Magec Tías has closed the period for submitting candidacies for the club's presidency, a circumstance that will mark the entity's direction in the coming years. Two different projects, led by individuals with extensive basketball backgrounds, aspire to succeed the current governing team chaired by Yanira Rodríguez.
The deadline for submitting candidacies closed on Thursday evening, as established in the electoral calendar approved by the Assembly. Once this process was completed, two candidacies were formally submitted to assume the presidency of CD Magec Tías.
The lists are led by Juan Ángel Fernández and Marius Gal, both profiles closely linked to basketball and with previous experience in the management and direction of sports entities, which brings solvency and knowledge to the process that is now beginning
The correct supervision of the electoral process falls to the club's Electoral Board, composed of Rodrigo Villar as president, Gema Ramos as secretary, and Antonio Martínez and Yesenia Sánchez as members. This body will be responsible for ensuring strict adherence to the deadlines and procedures set out in the electoral calendar.
According to this calendar, the period for objections to the submitted candidacies will open on February 3 and 4, after which the final proclamation will take place on February 5. Should both candidacies continue in the process, the election campaign will take place between February 6 and 24
The voting day is scheduled for February 25, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, allowing eligible voters to cast their ballots in person. Once the counting is complete, the provisional results will be announced immediately. February 26 and 27 will be reserved for the submission of any potential claims, should there be any.
With the definitive proclamation of the new Board of Directors scheduled for March 2nd, the date on which the official swearing-in will also take place, CD Magec Tías faces a key democratic process for its institutional future. The club thus reaffirms its commitment to transparency, participation, and good governance, fundamental pillars for continuing to promote basketball and sports in Tías and its surroundings.
