The municipality of Yaiza is in luck for the outstanding performance of three of its residents in the Spanish Jiu-Jitsu Cup of the Security Forces and Corps and Armed Forces held on November 9 in the city of Murcia, where the civil guards Jorge Iván Rodríguez, Jorge Gálvez and Acaymo Rodríguez, all three from the Wolves Squad Club of Playa Blanca, won bronze medals in different competition levels, in a national meeting of high demand organized by the Spanish Wrestling Federation, in which athletes from the field of private security also participated.

On behalf of the Yaiza City Council, the mayor, Óscar Noda, and the Councilor for Sports, Ángel Lago, praise the performance of Jorge Iván Rodríguez Melián (black belt), civil guard assigned to the Tías post; Jorge Gálvez López (purple belt), first corporal assigned to the Yaiza post; and Acaymo Rodríguez Tapia (white belt), assigned to the Tías post, who returned to Lanzarote with the satisfaction of podium and bronze in Grappling, kimono mode, the submission fight whose objective is to make the opponent abandon through immobilization techniques without using any type of blow, combining techniques of jiu-jitsu, freestyle wrestling, Greco-Roman wrestling, sambo and judo.

The Wolves Squad Club of Playa Blanca, of which Jorge Iván Rodríguez is a master instructor, is linked to the Municipal Sports Schools program for the training and practice of martial arts. The three athletes shared the joy of the podium at the Playa Blanca headquarters with boys, girls and young people and the municipal representation headed by Councilor Ángel Lago. The meeting in Murcia was held on the occasion of the 170th anniversary of the Local Police of the city.

The City Council also promotes other activities with the collaboration of the club, such as workshops on personal defense and immobilization techniques aimed at women within the framework of commemorative days of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
