Yoday Betancort, champion of the Rally4 Cup Canarias in 2025, will be in charge of inaugurating the Hyundai Canarias Motorsport program this season, since he will be the one to get behind the wheel of the Hyundai i20 N Rally2 this weekend in Lanzarote.
At 24 years old, this young man from Lanzarote will thus debut with a top-category vehicle in the Rally Isla de Lanzarote, after two seasons driving a Rally4 within the Sports&You Canarias cup.
His test calendar also includes the Isla de Gran Canaria and Villa de Teror rallies. "It's an honor that a brand like Hyundai Canarias trusts me. It's what every driver dreams of: racing with a car of this caliber and with a company like this behind it," he said from the outset.
"It has been a great surprise to have received the call from Domingo Alonso Group to face this program, which I believe is the result of the effort and work of recent years. We want to take advantage of the opportunity, although we will go out to the Rally Isla de Lanzarote with great care, aware that although it is the home rally, it has very treacherous sections," he continued
He recognized that "our objective is to learn, finish every rally and end our season closer to the leading Rally2s than we will be this weekend. I am going to work 100% to adapt as soon as possible, but the objective is none other than to learn and I have to take advantage of this opportunity and the purpose is to go from less to more".
