The sailing family gathered on Friday afternoon in the César Manrique hall of the Royal Yacht Club of Arrecife, paying a well-deserved tribute to Pedro de Armas Sanginés, who was president and nautical captain of the club, and a well-recognized person in the world of sailing at all levels. Julio Romero presented the family with the gold badge posthumously, in a recognition in which the wife, children and grandchildren of Pedro de Armas participated.

The afternoon began with the meeting of skippers of the I Pedro de Armas Memorial - Vuelta a Lanzarote, a regatta that is held this weekend in two stages. The skippers of the registered boats learned the details of the event that starts on Saturday morning from Puerto Calero with a stop in La Graciosa, and will continue on Sunday from La Graciosa to Puerto Calero along the east coast of the island.

Next, the César Manrique hall was too small to attend the tribute prepared by the Royal Yacht Club of Arrecife to Pedro de Armas. Julio Romero explained that "Pedro de Armas has been everything for our club and for the sailing of the island of Lanzarote", recalling that he is the sailor with the most champion titles of the San Ginés International Regatta, in addition to the accolades in competitions such as the Agadir Regatta or the Madeira Regatta.
