The 'Open Water Swimming Clinic' will land in Lanzarote this summer

The event will be held on August 30 with the participation of some of the best swimmers in the world

Costa Teguise hosted this Wednesday at the Barceló Lanzarote Active Resort facilities, the presentation of the Open Water Swimming Clinic, organized and sponsored by Lanzarote Sports Destination, SPEL-Turismo Lanzarote, directed by the president of the Cabildo, Oswaldo Betancort.

The event was attended by Héctor Fernández, CEO of SPEL-Turismo Lanzarote and members of Turismo Lanzarote, as well as Juan Carlos Vallejo “Kimbo”, a swimmer who represented Spain twice in the Olympic Games and a specialist in open water, with José Juan Aranda Gallego, an international swimmer among the TOP 5 world master swimmers.

The Lanzarote swimming community was also represented with the participation in the press conference of Kennedy Denby, National Open Water Medalist, and Ricardo Serna, coach of international medalists in open water, as well as representatives of several swimming clubs on the island. “The news of the Clinic was received very positively by the Lanzarote swimming community and a large turnout is expected,” said Héctor Fernández at the presentation of a unique and attractive event regardless of the level of the swimmer.

In addition, two swimming references will organize a series of technical and practical talks in the pool and open water with the aim of improving your swimming technique. Guillem Pujol, Absolute Champion of Spain 10 km, and participant in World and European Swimming Championships, and Pablo López, European and World Master Swimming Champion, and Expert in Strength, Endurance and Speed Training in High Performance.

This day will also feature the participation of Be Water Training coaches: José Juan Aranda, in the world's top 5 Master swimmers, international swimmer, European Master Champion; Juan Carlos “Kimbo” Vallejo, 22 times Champion of Spain, participant 2 times in the Olympic Games representing Spain, and specialized in distances of 5 km+ of open water; as well as swimmers from the island of Lanzarote, national open water medalists.
