The boat Lemuso Tres, captained by Carlos Lemes, was proclaimed the winner of the XIX La Tiñosa High Seas Fishing Tournament that was held this past weekend in the waters off the coast of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, except for the marine reserve areas.

For its part, the Sarayuki boat, captained by Wilson Rodríguez, obtained second place in this tournament organized by the "La Tiñosa" Fishing Club, in collaboration with the Tías City Council and in which 32 boats participated not only from Lanzarote but also from Fuerteventura.

During the fishing days, which were held on Friday and Saturday, 4 marlins were photographed and released, one blue and three white, as well as the capture of a dorado. The boats that photographed and released the marlins were, the Lemuso Tres, with a blue marlin; Sarayuki, a white marlin; Chiripa IV and Crismayer, also with other white marlins and El Compromiso, which captured a dorado minutes before the end of the tournament that did not reach the minimum weight established in the rules.

Thus, the prizes for petos, tunas and dorados were deserted, as well as the special prize of a vehicle courtesy of the company Orvecame, since three blue marlins were not photographed by any boat either.

Finally, the tournament concluded with the Dinner-Awards Ceremony that was held in the Tent installed in the Plaza del Varadero, last Saturday and which included speeches by the president of the La Tiñosa Fishing Club, Rafael Lemes Bermúdez and the mayor of Tías, Pancho Hernández.
