The 9th edition of the Lanzarote Quemao Class continues to exceed expectations, with incredible conditions for this last day of competition and the highest sporting level.

During the morning, the surf quarterfinals and bodyboard semifinals were completed, bringing us closer and closer to the eagerly awaited finals that will crown the champions of this edition.

Among the prominent names of the morning,  Aritz Aranburu stood out, dominating his heat towards the semifinal. “Yesterday we had more maneuvers, and today we have more tubes, a classic Lanzarote Quemao Class. We have a great level, trying to connect with the sea in the best way and today the sea will tell who gets the best waves.” But it's not all about competing, as he expressed that “in between, we try to enjoy the local product and see the island,” added the Basque surfer.

Along with him, locals Conor Donegan and Manuel Lezcano, Basques Adur Amatriain and Yago Domínguez, and Frenchmen Sam Piter, Kyllian Guerin and Joan Durú qualified for the semifinals.

In bodyboard, the finalists for this 9th edition have already been decided. Among those qualified, bodyboarder Alex Uranga, who advanced after a very close heat. “Since we arrived this morning, the waves looked incredible. It was a very close heat, but I’m very happy to advance to the final and keep going,” commented the Basque.

Joining him in the final will be Tenerife native David Pérez, Frenchman Pierre Louis Costes and Ruyman Rey, from Fuerteventura.

This last one highlighted how “today we woke up with the right wind from early morning, which makes this wave change completely and we have these pieces of waves. The competition is very complicated, all of us who are here can win. I am very happy with how things are turning out for me, now we go with the last step to the final”.
