Amelie Yaiza Skiba Birkelbach, from the Poliarrecife Karate Club, was proclaimed on November 19 as Spanish Runner-up in the Women's Cadet -54 kilograms as a representative of the Canary Islands Federation. The event was held at the University Pavilion of Albacete and Skiba Birkelbach won her four elimination matches (4-0, 2-0, 4-1, 3-1), falling in the final by arbitral decision at the end of the match without scoring (0-0).
This result is very important for the athlete, as it is her first year in the cadet category. The karateka thus confirms her spectacular progression in high competition.
Amelie Skiba, current Champion of the Canary Islands in Female Cadet Kata, and Champion of the Canary Islands and Spanish Runner-up in Kumite Female Cadet -54 kgs, will be next December in the last day of the WKF Youth League (World Karate League for athletes from 12 to 20 years old) that will be held in Venice from December 07 to 10.
