Jorge Cano from Lanzarote, a member of the Costa Teguise Judo Club in its first national division category, has won the gold medal at the Zagreb Grand Prix (Croatia).
This is a world competition, protected by the IJF (International Judo Federation), very prestigious, and that empowers its participants to add more points in the competitive ranking in order to participate in the Olympic Games.
Jorga Cano is 27 years old, is a second Dan in karate and is currently part of the National Judo Team. The victory in Croatia has a special meaning for this local athlete, as he had just recovered from a knee injury that required surgery.
