The first edition of the El Campesino Christmas Race and Walk will be held this Friday, December 23rd. An event that seeks to combine sports and viticulture with nature and family, since "the different modalities invite people of all ages to participate," they point out from the Cabildo. This Wednesday, December 21st, at 00:00, the registration period closes.
Bib Delivery
From Thursday, bib delivery will be available at the Monumento al Campesino, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., in addition to the afternoon shift from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
With all the participants prepared, "Friday will be the big day," they point out from the Cabildo. Runners and walkers will have to go to the San Bartolomé Football field, from 2:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., from where a bus will take them to the starting point according to the modality in which they have registered. Access to the starting points by private car will not be allowed.
At 4:00 p.m., the 6.5 km walk from the Testenia Farm will inaugurate this edition, with participants joining the "great atmosphere" that will be from 3:15 p.m. with live music (parranda), as well as wine and Christmas gastronomy tastings.
Fifteen minutes later it will be the turn of the 11.5 km race that starts from La Geria; while the 6.5 km race that starts from the Finca Testeina will begin at 4:30 p.m.
All participants will be received at the Monumento al Campesino, to put the finishing touch at 6:30 p.m. with the corresponding awards and distinctions ceremony.
There will also be moments with the little ones of the house as protagonists, and this El Campesino Christmas Race and Walk will also host the reception of letters to Santa Claus.
From 7:00 p.m. the live music and performance of parrandas will continue, concluding at 9:00 p.m. With the possibility of returning by bus to the San Bartolomé Football field from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., with transport every half hour.
"This will close the program of a Christmas event that promises not to leave anyone indifferent and with which it is expected to enjoy sports, family and gastronomy in a peculiar way in relation to these special dates," they highlight from the Cabildo.
The El Campesino Christmas Race and Walk is organized by Cronoline Eventos and SICAN with the sponsorship of the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers, and has the collaboration of the Cabildo de Lanzarote and the town halls of San Bartolomé, Tías and Yaiza.
