The CD de Natación Pingüinos de Arrecife kicked off its 2024-25 season on Saturday, November 16 with the first Regional Artistic Swimming Championship that took place in the CN METROPOLE pool in Las Palmas.
21 athletes from the Club (6 cadets, 11 children and 4 juniors) traveled to the event, obtaining excellent results and very good sensations. Great debut of the new technical team led by Sylvia Hernández Mendizábal, coaches Alessandra Mauri and Ylenia Felipe and team delegate Arantxa Quesada.
All categories were concentrated in an intense day, achieving 4 golds, 7 silvers and 3 bronzes, according to the following medal table:
In the cadet category, Mar Saavedra obtained 2 bronzes, classifying in third place overall and also in her year 2013 and Alba de Eusebio and Avril Bethencourt won gold and silver in the year 2014.
For its part, in the children's category, Miguel Martínez obtained first place in the men's classification and two silver medals overall and in his year 2011 and Eduardo Curbelo, who participated in two categories, in cadet he obtained silver both in the men's classification and in his year 2010 overall. Club Deportivo Pingüinos obtained third place in the cadet club classification.
In the Junior category, Vega Martínez, Adriana Cabrera and Laura Alemán (substitute), won a historic first place in the women's duo; Eduardo Curbelo, Adriana Cabrera and Vega Martínez (substitute) won gold in the mixed duo; Vega Martínez achieved second place in the women's solo routine and Eduardo Curbelo achieved silver in the men's solo.
The CD de Natación Pingüinos de Arrecife put a golden finishing touch to this first regional championship and is preparing with enthusiasm for the next Spanish championship, which will take place in two weeks in Madrid (Valdemoro).
