Cleba Rodríguez started by striking first and leaving an individual defensive line that started from midfield, which bothered the locals, who were unable to find the goal in their first attempts, allowing the León team to take the lead with a two-goal advantage.

But the great defensive deployment of CB Zonzamas CICAR Lanzarote, aware of the speed of the visitors, soon allowed them to find the tie (3-3). It was from the 7th minute, with a goal from Ingrid Roger, when the 'batateras' (sweet potato growers) took control of the scoreboard in a match that was leaving numerous unforced errors on both sides.

Approaching the first quarter of an hour, Cleba Rodríguez decided to completely change their defensive plans, dropping to a 6:0. Despite the fact that neither team had too many facilities in attack, CB Zonzamas CICAR Lanzarote managed to be forceful and signed a four-goal advantage.

Susi Sánchez appeared under the sticks, but the possible counterattacks remained as attempts, as they could not be taken advantage of due to several rushes. The 'rojinegras' then put more calm on the ball, increasing the partial in favor to seven goals after Jana Pinilla found the rival net three times (17-10). And Casimiro Tejera's team slipped between the lines with a León team that had decided to move the defense forward again to a 3:3.

Cleba Rodríguez only had to exploit their great one-on-one, as they could not find the back of a rival as fast as them and who matched them physically. The 'batateras' had to face a new individual defense in the last five minutes of the first half, which allowed Cleba Rodríguez to cut the deficit and go into the break with a score of 20-15.

The first section of the second half left many inaccuracies in both teams, with only one goal for each team in the first five minutes, giving way to a constant exchange of goals after ten minutes (24-20).

Ana Martín also appeared to defend the 'rojinegra' goal, but the difficulties in attack of both teams moved the scoreboard little, a fact that would seem to favor the locals until there was a partial of 0-3 in almost ten minutes of local goal drought that reduced the differences to 26-23.

The León team then took advantage of Reyes' exclusion to further reduce the distance on the scoreboard, achieving a 27-27 tie with seven minutes to go, even turning the score around afterwards. Brenda Roger and Gleinys Reyes would return the 'rojinegro' control (29-28), but shortly after a great outside shot from the visitor Itahisa Castillo left a dangerous 29-30 with still three minutes to play.

CB Zonzamas CICAR showed maturity, without being weighed down by the ball and the weight of the match. Calmly, the 'batateras' put on their work clothes and finally managed to tie up a match that should not have been so complicated. Brenda and Gleinys put the goals back to leave the final 31-30 and confirm that the two vital points stayed in Lanzarote.

A more than important victory that leaves CB Zonzamas CICAR Lanzarote eight points away from the last four places, currently occupying seventh place. But there are still six league games and twelve points at stake, so the 'rojinegras' do not want to be complacent, so they are already working towards the next game against Uneatlantico Pereda, in the Montañés outdoor sports hall of La Albericia next Saturday, March 18.
