The Canarian Badminton Federation develops in Lanzarote the first technical training day

29 players selected by the sports management participate and the training camps will be held periodically

The Canarian Badminton Federation, with the aim of working with the young promises of this sport in the archipelago, developed in Lanzarote the first technical training session of the season. An enriching session for the 29 players who participated, with work on and off the court. 

The main objective of the concentration is to develop the players at a technical, tactical, physical, and mental level, as well as to foster key values such as teamwork, attitude, and commitment, The 29 participating players (male/female) have been selected by the Technical Directorate of the Canarian Badminton Federation and who currently belong to the sub´11, sub´13, sub´15, and sub´17 categories. 

On this first day of technical training, the technical staff of the Canarian Badminton Federation was made up of Roberto Siverio, Alejandro Rostro, Martín Barbado and Miguel Barbado, also counting on the help of coaches from the different clubs of the Canary Islands. The players were divided into the group “Champion wanted” and the group “CESA”, the activity taking place at IES Blas Cabrera Felipe, IES Playa Honda and in the assembly hall of the Lanzarote Sports City. 

On the court, the selected players have participated in a specific badminton warm-up, net technique, introduction and improvement of movement towards the net, development of finger power and the importance of timing in hitting. Subsequently, the technique has been applied in real game situations, work on complete movements and changes of pace, exercises have been carried out in control and decision-making situations, and the introduction of objectives and competition in tasks. And it has concluded with a team competition, work on the feeder role and the importance of collective work. 

The technical training day has been completed with theoretical and physical training talks, in which sports nutrition has been worked on, with aspects as important as eating habits, nutrition during competition, and nutrition. Sports psychology has also been worked on, emphasizing emotional management, concentration, and competitive attitude. And specific physical preparation has been explained, with work adapted to badminton, injury prevention, and performance improvement. 

The Canarian Badminton Federation intends to develop the technification concentrations periodically, carrying out individualized monitoring of the players who participate in them. An enriching day on and off the court, having badminton as the common denominator.
