The badminton modality of the Island Sports Promotion Games, a competition promoted by the Island Sports Service of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, concluded last weekend in Puerto del Carmen, with the celebration of the seventh and last day of the season. The Auria Badminton Club completes its second participation in the Island Games, with its members achieving several podiums in the training competition.
The seventh and last day of the Island Sports Promotion Games took place on Saturday morning at the IES Puerto del Carmen facilities. Throughout the season, seven concentrations have been held in each of the categories, with the tournament being held in the under´9, under´11, under´13, under´15, under´17 and under´19 categories.
In addition, the last day was used to present the season's trophies. Guillermo Padrón, in the mixed under´9 category, took the victory in the five days held and won first place in his category. Álvaro Guadalupe also climbed to the top of the podium in the mixed under´11 category, winning the four days in which he participated, and his teammate Hugo de la Paz Paradas won the bronze medal in this category.
In the under´13 category, Nerea Padrón was third classified and Jacob López was on the verge of the podium, achieving a meritorious fourth position. The good results of the Auria Badminton Club in the Island Sports Promotion Games were completed by Zhi Tao Li, Rubén Jorge and Adrián Carabali, players who occupied the first three positions in the mixed under´19 category.
The Auria Badminton Club would like to thank the Cabildo de Lanzarote and the Island Sports Service for their involvement in the development of the Sports Promotion Games (JIPD), as well as the logistical and organizational support, which has allowed the smooth running of this school badminton season.
The Auria Badminton Club in its second presence in the Island Sports Promotion Games has had the presence of 22 players. The team has been made up of the following components:

Sub´11: Álvaro Guadalupe, Hugo de la Paz Paradas, Isaac Rincón, Kaiwen Shi and Héctor Castro
Sub´13: Nerea Padrón, Jacob López, David Rodríguez and Ángel Hugo Arbelo
Sub´15: Yraya García, Valeria Ramón, Lucía Rincón, Itziar Morales and Ariadna Álvarez
Sub´17: Greta Duarte, Patricia Vargas, Graciela Müggler and María Gabriela Martínez
Sub´19: Zhi Tao Li, Rubén Jorge and Adrián Carabali
