The quarry of Auria Bádminton Club was present this weekend in the town of San Juan de la Rambla, in Tenerife, competing in a new edition of the Canary Islands U15 and U17 Championship. After two days of intense competition, Nerea Padrón, along with Nerea Infantes, in women's doubles, and the pair formed by Aitami Fernández and Vera García, in mixed doubles, won the silver medal in the regional competition.
In the U15 women's doubles, Nerea Padrón and Nerea Infantes (Badfor El Sauzal) took victory in the three group stage matches, defeating Alejandra Martínez – Gissela del Carmen Suárez (21-13, 21-11), Nara Morales – Mishelle Sanahuja (21-11, 21-11), and Ainhoa Barreto – Laura Gómez (21-18, 21-17). In the semifinals, they prevailed over Esmeralda Estefanía Castillo – Ana Samyra Méndez (21-13, 21-9). And in the grand final, they fell to Lucía Hernández – Marta Siverio (21-17, 14-21, 14-21), taking the silver medal.
Aitami Fernández and Vera García competed in the mixed doubles of the under-15 category, also winning the silver medal in the Canary Islands Championship. They achieved qualification for the final after defeating Pedro Hernández – Gretta Hernández (21-13, 21-8), Sabino Qingfu Blanco – Chanel Conti (21-11, 21-12), and Gabriel Brito – Nerea Febles (21-10, 251-7) in the group stage. In the final, they were defeated by Martín Rivero – Yareima Morales (16-21, 17-21).
The Auria Badminton Club participated with 8 players in the Canary Islands Under-15 and Under-17 Championship. Vera García, Aitami Fernández, Nerea Padrón, Lucca Furlone, Vaibhav Udhani, Ciro Radulovich, Abián Rodríguez, and Patricia Vargas traveled to the town of San Juan de la Rambla, in Tenerife. They were accompanied by Luis Miguel Alemán, who served as coach in the tournament.
