The Antigua Craiova takes the triumph in the La Graciosa Regatta – Líneas Romero Trophy

Second scoring test for the Final of the Canary Islands Cruising Championship

A new edition of the La Graciosa Regatta – Líneas Romero Trophy was held, the second scoring event of the season for the Final of the Canary Islands Cruiser Championship, organized by the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife. The participating vessels completed the 25 nautical mile route separating Lanzarote from the island of La Graciosa, with the Antigua Craiova of José Miguel “Ye” Cabrera once again taking absolute victory. 

On Saturday morning, from the vicinity of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, the participating vessels took the start of a new edition of the La Graciosa Regatta – Líneas Romero Trophy, heading for the Caleta de Sebo pier. The Lola VII was the winner in real time of the race, a boat that on this occasion was made up of a crew of young sailors who are training in the cruiser class. 

In the final classification with compensated times, José Miguel “Ye” Cabrera's Antigua Craiova took the victory in the La Graciosa Regatta – Líneas Romero Trophy. The second place overall went to Miguel Ángel Armas's Sorondongo IV and the third position corresponded to Felipe Brito's Salitre.

The La Graciosa – Líneas Romero Regatta, alongside the Carmelo Hernández Memorial “Vuelta a Lobos,” is a selection regatta for the Lanzarote – Fuerteventura zone to attend the Canary Islands Cruising Championship, a competition that will take place in June. Antigua Craiova, Sorondongo IV, Manitu by Pedro Jesús Rodríguez, Pionene by Miguel Pérez, and Salitre are the five vessels that have achieved qualification for the regional competition. 

On behalf of the president of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, Julio Romero, and the Board of Directors, at the end of the regatta, Luis Romero was presented with a plaque in gratitude for the invaluable collaboration of Líneas Romero throughout all these years, making the celebration of the event possible. Luis Romero thanked them for the gesture and stated that he hopes the La Graciosa – Líneas Romero Regatta will endure over time.
