The quarter-finals in both modalities have already been completed and the semi-finalists for this 8th edition are known. The French Joan Duru, who achieved the first 10-point wave of the morning in a spectacular wave, has qualified with great scores. "I saw this perfect wave coming, I prepared to catch it, and at one point I thought it wasn't going to form a tube, but it did, it's the best wave I've ever caught here" in the 'Lanzarote Quemao Class'.
Along with him, the young local Makoa Gómez, who continues to advance unstoppably. "Today the conditions are bigger, it's more difficult, but I'm very happy to be able to find the two waves that ensure my pass to the semi-finals and to be able to compete at home."
The French Marc Lacomare continues to stand out with very high scores, along with the Basque Aritz Aranburu, demonstrating that they know this wave and know how to make the most of today's conditions. "I am very grateful for the opportunity to compete here and that the locals share this incredible wave with us. This wave is one of the best there is, I couldn't be better," Lacomare highlighted.
"The conditions today are more solid than yesterday, it's perfect. You keep getting into the water with nerves, but always trying to catch the waves with your head and do it well," commented the Basque.
Thus, the semi-finalists of the eighth edition of the 'Lanzarote Quemao Class' are the surfers Makoa Gómez (Lanzarote), Joan Duru (France), Joao Mendoca (Portugal), Mason Barnes (USA), Marc Lacomare (France), Aritz Aranburu (Basque Country).
For their part, the French bodyboarders Ethan Capdeville and Amaury Lavernhe advance leading in their modality. "The waves are even bigger today, the conditions are perfect. I am very happy to be in the semi-final, now it's time to keep fighting until the final," commented Ethan Capdeville.
The Basque bodyboarder Alex Uranga, has entered the water in the first series of the day, where he has led and qualifies for the semi-finals. "The waves today are bigger than yesterday, I was in the first series of the day and you get nervous, but it went very well, this is an epic scenario. Lanzarote is a wonderful place to do all kinds of sports and enjoy a vacation." He added that "this event is very special, it is always done with the best conditions and if I could choose an event to highlight, it would be this one."
Thus, in bodyboard will face Alex Uranga (Basque Country), Amaury Lavernhe (Reunion Island), Lionel Medina (Gran Canaria), Álvaro Padrón (Tenerife), Pablo Lecouey (Lanzarote), Ethan Capdeville (France), William Lujan (Gran Canaria), and Aday Borges (Tenerife).
The eighth edition of the 'Lanzarote Quemao Class' competition will continue with the semi-finals in both modalities in La Santa, Tinajo.
