With the activation of the orange alert, and with it the waiting period for the 8th edition of the Lanzarote Quemao Class, all eyes are fixed on the island, in search of the El Quemao wave reaching its ideal conditions.
And it is at that moment, when the 64 athletes invited by the organization will meet in La Santa, Tinajo. 32 surfers and 32 bodyboarders from all over the world will compete in this world-renowned wave.
The Brazilian surfers Lucas Chianca and Pedro Calado have already confirmed their attendance, as well as the Basque Aritz Aranburu, and the Australian Russell Bierke. Along with them will be the American Mason Barnes, and the Irish Gearoid McDaid and Conor Maguire.
The Canary Islands will also be represented, with Yael Peña from Tenerife, Luis Díaz from Gran Canaria, and Manuel Lezcano and José María Cabrera from Lanzarote, among others.
For its part, in bodyboarding, the champion of the last edition, the French Pierre Louis Costes, the Hawaiian Mike Stewart, the Puerto Rican Abner de Arce, as well as the bodyboarders from Reunion Island, Amaury Lavernhe and Robin Legros, stand out.
The Gran Canaria residents William Lujan and Lionel Medina, Aitor Ojeda and Ruyman Rey from Fuerteventura, and Paul Lecouey from Lanzarote have also confirmed.
