With an extraordinary day without wind, although with some heat, 117 athletes started the 29th edition of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife Triathlon, of which 112 reached the finish line. The race, held under the sponsorship of the Arrecife City Council, responded to "the expectations" of the organization, taking place without incidents and with a "large audience" in the streets following the route.
Ricardo Hernández (Club Triator) was the first to reach the finish line with a time of 00:56:40, improving the 2022 mark by more than 10 minutes. After him, Andrés Eduardo Díaz (CT Diablillos de Rivas) crossed the finish line with a time of 00:56:49, with a little more than two minutes difference, Jorge Carlos Wilkes (Chamo Díaz) was third.
In the women's general, the victory went to Dácil Hernández with a time of 01:06:50 (CT Reales), with 01:07:21 Lucía Pérez (CN Metropole) entered in second place, the third place was awarded to Mia Leadbeater with a time of 01:09:38 (Independent).
By categories, the triumphs in absolute were awarded to Lucía Pérez and Ricardo Hernández, in junior Gonzalo Javier Ramírez, Carmen Falcón and Pablo Alonso in youth, Mia Leadbeater and Jorge Carlos Wilkes won in sub 23. In veterans 1 victories of Dácil Hernández and Miguel Ángel Santana, María Isabel Allgaier and Fernando Rodríguez in veteran 2, Doris Krimm and David Douglas in veterans 3.
The Lanzarote paratriathlete Lionel Morales, received the recognition of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, which presented him with a plaque in memory of his successful career. Once the race was over, the awards ceremony was held, presided over by Yonathan del León, Jacobo Medina; Juan Kenty Siverio, vice president of the Canary Islands Triathlon Federation and Julio Romero, president of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife. They were accompanied by capital councilors and RCNA directors. Afterwards, a lunch with paella was offered to all participants.
The route, which took place entirely in Arrecife, consisted of 750 meters of swimming, 20 kilometers of cycling and 5 kilometers of running.
