Intense week of competition for the sailors of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, being present in different national competitions that have been developed over the last few days in Gran Canaria, Ferrol, Vigo and Cádiz. In the optimist class, Mateo Roa, Unai de Ugarte and Julián Suárez climbed onto the podium of the Balandro Tirma Trophy. Mariano Stinga was third in the L Admiral Chief of the Arsenal Snipe Trophy, and Alfredo González, aboard the Noticia, was third in the fifth race of the J70 Saliway Series.
Three members of the optimist team of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife traveled to Gran Canaria, participating in the Balandro Tirma Trophy organized by the Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria, which has served as preparation for the upcoming Spanish Optimist Cup. The expedition was made up of Mateo Roa, Unai de Ugarte and Julián Suárez.
The three sailors from Lanzarote had an outstanding participation in the six races held over the weekend in the bay of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Mateo Roa and Unai de Ugarte climbed onto the podium of the men's sub'16 category, being second and third, respectively. For his part, the young Julián Suárez was third in the sub'13 category.
Podium for Mariano Stinga in the L Admiral Chief of the Arsenal Trophy
The L Admiral Chief of the Arsenal Snipe Trophy was held in the waters of Ferrol, in Galicia, a competition in which Mariano Stinga teamed up with Enrique Lagos from CNR Ferrol. Throughout the weekend, a total of four races were held, and in which they were always fighting for the top positions in the classification.
Mariano Stinga and Enrique Lagos started the L Admiral of the Arsenal Snipe Trophy by scoring the victory in the first race, then adding two fourth places and a fifth position. A regularity that earned them a place on the podium as third classified.
Spanish 420 Cup
The Spanish 420 Cup was held in the bay of Cádiz, a national competition that included the participation of three teams from the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife. Organized by CN Puerto Sherry, a total of seven races were held, with the fleet being divided into two groups in the first four races.
Miguel Álvarez Rodríguez and Jorge Betancort Martín were the best classified of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife and who occupied the 28th place in the general classification. For their part, Alejandro Martín Corujo and Ariane Suárez Álvarez occupied the 39th position in the general. And the participation from Lanzarote was completed with the 43rd place of Gabriela Cañibano Salvago and Adolfo Ron Acuña.
Podium for Alfredo González in the J70 Saliway Series
The J70 Saliway Series celebrated the fifth race of the season in the Ría de Vigo, in Galicia, which included the participation of the Noticia, a boat in which Alfredo González from the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife competes.
The boat, skippered by Luis Cabiedes and based at the RCN in Barcelona, started the competition by adding two partial victories and placing it at the top of the general classification. The wind decreased in intensity throughout the weekend, which harmed the boat in which Alfredo González competes and which finally finished in third position.
The president of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, Julio Romero, and the entire Board of Directors wish to congratulate the club's sailors who have had an outstanding participation in the different national competitions in recent days. These results are the result of the enormous work they do every day, and once again leaving the club's name at the top.
