Just two days remain until the Promotion Phase to the Women's Silver Honor Division begins to be played on the island of Lanzarote, a competition organized by CB Zonzamas and where the batatero team will fight to achieve promotion to the category. It is the first time in history that a Promotion Phase to the Women's Silver Honor Division has been held in Lanzarote, which has meant a great effort for it to be approved by the Royal Spanish Handball Federation. CB Zonzamas, CB Getasur and Novasol Málaga Costa de Sol, will meet in Lanzarote and fight for the place that is at stake to play next season in the Women's Silver Honor Division of Handball.
On the morning of this Wednesday, the Promotion Phase to the Women's Silver Honor Division of Handball was presented at the San Bartolomé City Council, explaining the details of the competition that will start on Friday night at the San Bartolomé Municipal Pavilion. The press conference was chaired by Antonio Rocío, Councilor for Sports of the San Bartolomé City Council, and who was accompanied by Manuel de León, president of CB Zonzamas, and Patrocinio Barambio, director of CB Zonzamas.
The Councilor for Sports of the San Bartolomé City Council, Antonio Rocío, recalled that hosting the Promotion Phase to the Women's Silver Honor Division is "a historical event for the municipality of San Bartolomé and it is the first time that the women's team of CB Zonzamas has fought to ascend to a national category". Rocío recalled that "together we have made the celebration of the promotion phase in Lanzarote a reality", highlighting the important role that the San Bartolomé City Council has played, which has strongly supported CB Zonzamas to be the organizer of the competition.
The president of CB Zonzamas, Manuel de León, wanted to "thank the San Bartolomé City Council for its collaboration and it has always been an institution that has helped us". Regarding the sports part, Manuel explained that they have the "illusion of trying to move up a category with a group of young players", and added that "we will try to compete hoping that things go well for us during the weekend".
Antonio Rocío and Manuel de León, made a call for fans to meet throughout the weekend at the San Bartolomé Municipal Pavilion and support CB Zonzamas from the stands. Admission to attend the Promotion Phase to the Women's Silver Honor Division will be free and only the club will hold a raffle with tickets at one euro, in order to cover as much as possible the expenses involved in organizing a competition of these characteristics.
The Promotion Phase to the Women's Silver Honor Division will begin on Friday at 8:00 p.m. with the match between CB Zonzamas and CB Getasur (Madrid). The next day, CB Getasur faces Novasol Málaga Costa de Sol, also at 8:00 p.m. And the competition closes on Sunday at 12:00 noon with the match between CB Zonzamas and Novasol Málaga Costa de Sol, a match in which the promotion to the category could be at stake.
