Finally, it was the Basque surfer who prevailed and took the victory for the second consecutive year with two spectacular waves of 9.27 and 8.83 points out of 10. “This event is special, it never disappoints, yesterday's waves were incredible. It is always a great opportunity to come to Lanzarote,” added the surf champion.

A very close series that ended with Pierre Louis Costes finishing in first place thanks to two impressive waves of 9.67 and 8.20 points out of 10. He commented that “this is one of the events that I most wanted to win, I come to Lanzarote every winter for its waves and I end up very happy”. He also added that “being invited to participate is a great opportunity, this is one of the best waves in the world”.
At the awards ceremony we also had the presence of Héctor Fernández, CEO of Turismo Lanzarote, who expressed the importance of this event as a tourist attraction for the island. “Sports such as surfing and bodyboarding value the landscape, the sea and the climatic conditions that we enjoy, which reinforces the image of Lanzarote as a tourist and sports destination,” he added.
Likewise, Alfredo Mendoza, sports councilor of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, pointed out how the event “places Lanzarote at the center of the world map, acting as a promoter of sports and the suitability of the island for practicing it, especially surfing and bodyboarding.”
The mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, highlighted the pride that it means for the municipality and the island of Lanzarote to have a wave and an event of these characteristics.
