More than 50 acrobats amaze at the I Playa Blanca Skate & BMX

Fifty-four adventurers who don't know the word fear amazed the public gathered this Saturday at the I Playa Blanca Skate & BMX, showing their mastery over bikes and boards with fantastic tricks before the incredulous gaze of dozens of fans who encouraged this sports festival organized by the Yaiza City Council and Alto Riesgo TV, in the newly opened southern skate park.

Seeing young people, and even children under 5 years old, roll and fly at will through the Playa Blanca ramp circuit was a true spectacle for extreme sports lovers and those who are curious about it.

Knowing the name of one trick or another or the combination of several of them is the least of it when the acrobat produces a similar reaction in the public when turning the handlebars in the air or gaining momentum and turning completely with the bike, in the case of the BMX modality, and flying with the board, making it spin under the feet or maintaining balance on metal edges at full speed, in the case of the skate.

Bikers and skaters, some already with regional status, were in Playa Blanca to exhibit their tricks and submit them to the jury. Each participant had two rounds of one minute to demonstrate their skills and earn the right to be among the five finalists. Playa Blanca received the visit of athletes from different municipalities of the Island and from the islands of Fuerteventura and Tenerife.

The judges evaluated the quantity and difficulty of the tricks performed, deciding the honor roll of the I Playa Blanca Skate & BMX. In open skate, the first three were, in order, Adrián Santos, Josito Hernández and Kyun Park, while in BMX the winners were Alan, Nené and Andrés. The first of BMX, Alan, dazzled with his stupendous presentation full of skill and risk to the limit.

The mayor of Yaiza, Gladys Acuña, the councilor for Youth and Sports, José Daniel Medina, and the heads of the firm Alto Riesgo TV, Diego and Gustavo Rosende, presided over the medal and gift giving ceremony. Municipal officials announced new events and activities aimed at the youngest.

The skate quarry also demonstrated its good work in Playa Blanca. Eleven children, from 3 to 7 years old, made an excellent exhibition. In competition, in the sub 12 category, the winners were Eder Canivell, Guillermo Carballo and Leonardo Bocatella, while in sub 16 the prizes went to Nichell, Javito Carballo and Adrián. The organizers thank the participation of all the bikers and skaters and the collaboration of the stores El Cruce, Pampero, Crocket and Vallés Design and the DJ Luca de Tena.
