“Mojo Wheels” will bring together local and national skateboarding references

The skateboarding competition "Mojo Wheels" will take place next Saturday, November 26th at the Extreme Center, in Playa Honda. The championship will feature both male and female categories under 12, under 16 and Open, in this last modality, there will be a cash prize of 2,000 euros to be distributed among the first three classified.

This is a competition that will bring together great names, both from the Lanzarote and national scene, among which are Afrika Criado Oliva, a 15-year-old skateboarder from Vitoria, who obtained the 2nd place in the Spanish Championship held in Valencia and the 10th place in the World Championship held in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Natalia Muñoz, a 14-year-old athlete from Cadiz and champion of Spain in the Sub 16 category, sixth in the World Championship in Brazil and 1st in the O'Marisquiño championship in Vigo, a scoring event for the World Cup Skateboarding, Fernando Andrés Velasco from Madrid, who achieved the 3rd place in the National Championship and the sixth position in O' Marisquiño or Abbie Burns from Lanzarote, 13 years old, champion of the Canary Islands. 

"Skateboarding is a sport closely linked to youth, which is gaining more and more followers in Lanzarote. Thus, we have organized this championship to give our support and contribute to giving a boost to this sports discipline on the island," says the Councilor for Youth of the first island corporation, Myriam Barros.
