The Spain Wingfoil League – Spanish Championship featured the participation of the young Lanzarote native Manuel Morillo Fiestas, who delivered a great performance throughout the four days of competition, despite the complicated wind conditions. The rider from the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife was among the top contenders from the start, and in the end, his consistency earned him the title of Spanish Junior Freestyle Champion.
La Barrosa Beach, located in Chiclana de La Frontera, in Cádiz, hosted the Spain Wingfoil League – Spanish Championship from last Saturday, which took place in the Surf Slalom and Surf Freestyle modalities. The most outstanding national riders from each modality were present at the event, including Manuel Morillo Fiestas, representing the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife.
The start of the competition was quite complicated, due to the low wind intensity, which only allowed for the celebration of some slalom heats on the opening day. The wind intensity increased over the days, and a total of eight freestyle heats could be completed.
Manuel Morillo Fiestas had a very consistent competition, always placing among the top six in the eight heats held, even finishing second in the third of the events held at La Barrosa Beach. This consistency allowed the rider from the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife to occupy the fourth position in the general classification and be proclaimed Spanish Junior Freestyle Champion.
