Magec Tías Lanzarote Against Gender Violence fell this weekend by 93-76 against Hierros Díaz Extremadura Miralvalle, in a match played in Plasencia corresponding to the Liga Femenina 2. Despite the adverse result and the numerous difficulties it continues to face during the season, the Lanzarote team offered a competitive image and maintained its options to get closer on the scoreboard until the final moments of the match.

Circumstances once again conditioned the preparation of the match for the team led by Màrius Bonjorn. Although Evangelia Davlakou was able to return to the squad after the injury suffered in the previous match and even be the MVP of the game with 31 valuation points, the absences of Yaiza González, Carolina Mateo, and Joana Ferreira, all due to injury, and the impossibility of still counting on Tatyanna Burke, who continues to be unable to join the island due to bureaucratic problems, considerably reduced the available alternatives.

In this context, Magec Tías once again counted on Rocío Marrero from Tenerife, from the island team, who again had minutes on the court. Nereida Bermúdez, current assistant coach of the red-and-black team, also repeated her call-up and participated in the match again. One of the most notable aspects was the return of Marta Moreno, who put on her uniform again with the Liga Femenina 2 team after almost a decade. Her presence allowed for an expansion of rotation options at a time when every resource is especially important for the coaching staff.

The match began with difficulties for the Lanzarote team, which found problems stopping the game of the Extremadura team and ended the first quarter with a thirteen-point deficit (20-7). The score forced a reaction, and Magec Tías Lanzarote did not give up competing or seeking alternatives to reduce the differences.

Throughout the match, Hierros Díaz Extremadura Miralvalle managed to have a lead of up to 25 points. However, the island team continued to work to close the gap and prevent the match from being definitively decided prematurely.

The match went through different phases in which fast transitions and direct attacks took center stage, making it difficult for both teams to establish solid defenses. At times, the lack of offensive success from one team and the other caused the score to remain practically stagnant, despite the pace of the game.

Far from giving up, Magec Tías Lanzarote found arguments to get back into the game during the last quarter. The red-and-blacks managed to get within ten points of the difference, an approach that forced the home team to remain alert and that showed the visitors' ability to react.

Finally, Hierros Díaz Extremadura Miralvalle managed their lead and closed the match with a score of 93-76. The victory remained in Plasencia, although Magec Tías Lanzarote showed positive signs with their resilience, collective effort, and will to compete until the end, even in a particularly difficult situation.

With this result, Magec Tías Lanzarote Contra la Violencia de Género is left with a record of one win and three losses in the Liga Femenina 2, with the objective of recovering players and preparing for the next matchday.

The red-and-black team will return to competition on October 31, at 7:00 PM, when they will host El Cochinillo Segoviano at the Pabellón Municipal de Tías, a team with the same win-loss record. A new commitment in which the Lanzaroteñas will seek to take advantage of the home-court factor to secure a victory and continue the good competitive feelings shown in Extremadura.
