The Altavista neighborhood experienced a truly special night with the celebration of the 1st Altavista Song Encounter 2026, an event that, framed within the main day of the festivities in honor of San Antonio María Claret, made music, emotion, and camaraderie the main protagonists of an unforgettable evening.

At 8:00 PM last Saturday, the social hall of the Padre Claret Neighbors Association opened its doors to host this anticipated musical event, presided over by its president, Mari Carmen Santacruz, and supported by an enthusiastic, participatory audience ready to enjoy a night designed to be remembered.

The gala kicked off with a bang with the spectacular opening by Samira Riff, who surprised attendees with an elegant and striking display of Arabic dances. Her meticulous choreographies, full of rhythm and expressiveness, captivated the audience from the first notes and were met with prolonged applause.

After this brilliant opening, it was time to introduce the professional musicians who would accompany the artists live during their respective performances. A band composed of Willy Morales on drums; Rodolfo Lussón on bass; Yosán Pereda on guitar; and Manuel Mauri on piano, musical arrangements, and direction. A musical team that provided quality, reliability, and the necessary accompaniment for each performer to offer their best.

The musical encounter began with the performance of Araceli Bravo, winner of the 5th Edition of the Altavista Song Festival 2025, who paved the way for a succession of performances filled with enthusiasm, dedication, and artistic sensitivity.

Next, the ten participating singers paraded across the stage, demonstrating their professionalism and passion for music, supported at all times by a band that provided live music for a night full of nuances and emotions.

Among the participants were veteran artists who, years ago, had shared stages at festivals, galas, and patron saint celebrations in different municipalities of Lanzarote. Many of them responded to the call of the president of the Padre Claret Neighbors Association, Mari Carmen Santacruz, with whom they had also shared that stage of their lives linked to the world of song.

And it was precisely there where the evening acquired a special meaning. Beyond the musical interpretations, the encounter became a beautiful opportunity to recover memories, reconnect with old colleagues, and feel again the emotion of stepping onto a stage.

The passage of time had left behind those years of performances and applause, but an invitation, a live band, and the warmth of a devoted audience were enough for many of those sensations to flourish again. The artists found again on stage that affection that remains intact and manifests itself in the most sincere way: with applause, smiles, and the complicity of those who enjoy music.

The ten performers who brought this first edition to life were Carlos Santana, Sara Bermúdez, Jorge Machín, Andrea Botwin, Pedro Alemán, Encarna Páez, Fran Hernández, Vicki Noya, Cristián Morales, and Ana Delia Perdomo.

For all of them, the experience had a value that went far beyond the performance itself. Stepping onto a stage again after some years, reconnecting with live music, and feeling the warmth of the audience once more constituted a reward full of meaning. A demonstration that time may pass, but the passion for music and the emotions it awakens remain alive.

Matías Alonso provided the humorous touch

When the music had already left its mark on the hearts of the attendees, the evening took a one hundred and eighty degree turn with the awaited performance of the comedian from Gran Canaria, Matías Alonso.

Approachable, affectionate, and jovial, the artist barely needed a few moments on stage to win over the audience's complicity. With his particular way of recounting personal experiences and transforming everyday situations into funny parodies, he elicited laughter and continuous displays of enthusiasm from the attendees.

With more than twenty-five years of experience on stage, Matías Alonso has earned the affection and respect of the public thanks to his approachable, spontaneous, and humane humor. His performances offer that necessary break from the daily routine, allowing worries to be set aside for a moment and making way for shared laughter.

His intervention added a note of joy and relaxation to a gala that had united music, memories, and emotions, thus completing a varied artistic offering designed for everyone's enjoyment.

A fitting end to a great night

The evening came to an end with words of thanks from the president of the Padre Claret Neighborhood Association, Mari Carmen Santacruz, who put the finishing touch on a celebration marked by participation, camaraderie, and collective enthusiasm.

As a token of recognition and gratitude, a sculpture was presented to the participants, in a particularly emotional moment that was accompanied by the applause of a grateful audience who, standing, wanted to express their recognition to the artists.

Thus concluded a night that leaves behind much more than a succession of performances. The 1st Altavista Song Meeting 2026 has been an opportunity to relive experiences, strengthen bonds, and demonstrate that culture, music, and humor continue to be powerful meeting points among people.

Altavista experienced one of those nights that deserve a prominent place in the neighborhood's history. A celebration born of enthusiasm, driven by the commitment of its neighborhood association, and enriched by the talent of its artists and the warm response of the public.

Because there are gatherings that end when the stage lights go out, but whose emotions remain long afterward. And this first edition, for all that was experienced and shared, leaves the best of memories and opens the door to new encounters with music, culture, and neighborhood coexistence.

A night to remember, a stage to reunite, and a neighborhood that, once again, proved that when enthusiasm and feeling go hand in hand, success is assured.
