CD Magec Tías Lanzarote Against Gender Violence fell this weekend in their visit to Segle XXI (76-42), in a match conditioned by the casualties and physical setbacks that diminished the Lanzarote team. Despite the result, the team showed a good first half and a commendable attitude in the face of adversity.

The team led by Jesús García faced the match with only eight players available, after Naroa Zabala's injury. MVP in the previous matchday, which forced a greater effort in rotations and in the physical management of the group.

Magec Tías Lanzarote started with intensity, opting for a man-to-man defense that soon transformed into a zone due to the Catalan team's offensive variations. The approach paid off during the first few minutes, although the score at the end of the first quarter reflected a 22-11 lead for the Catalan team.

In the second quarter, Magec Tías Lanzarote began to react and cut into the difference on the scoreboard. The Lanzarote team held its own until, with only a few minutes left before halftime, they suffered a major setback: the captain, Yaiza García, took a blow to the chin that forced her to leave the game. The player had to be treated and undergo stitches, remaining in Barcelona.

Yaiza's injury was a moral blow for her teammates and altered the bench's plans. Even so, the team remained competitive until halftime, which arrived with a score of 38-28.

The lack of substitutions began to be noticeable after half-time. With hardly any options to give the players a rest, Magec Tías Lanzarote lost freshness, while the Catalan team maintained their pace of play and progressively increased their lead.

El Segle XXI took advantage of the opponent's physical exhaustion to dominate the match in the last two quarters and close the game with a final score of 76-42. Despite the result, the coaching staff valued the team's effort and commitment.

"I am very happy with the work that was done, especially on a physical level. I can only be proud of the players," declared coach Jesús García at the end of the match.

After this defeat, CD Magec Tías Lanzarote Against Gender Violence has a record of one victory and three defeats at the start of the league. The next match will be at home, where the team will receive Basket Almeda, which has not yet opened its win column (0-4).
