The eleventh victory in the Women's League 2 this season is resisted by Magec Tías "Against Gender Violence". The Lanzarote team fell at home on Saturday by 56 to 59 against Maristas Coruña, in a match where the locals were superior in the first half, but were overwhelmed in the second half, although in the last seconds the emotion was still latent in the match.

The team trained by Jesús García started the match with quite intensity, having a good streak that allowed them to open a gap very soon on the scoreboard, even increasing it throughout the first quarter to eleven points of difference, forcing the coach of the Galician team to request a time out. After the readjustment made by Fernando Buendía, the match would be even again, ending the first quarter with the score of 18 to 12.

The second quarter was practically a replica of the first, although with an important exception, Aleksandra Stojanovska began to make an appearance in Maristas Coruña. The Lanzarote team would manage to extend the difference on the scoreboard to nine points, concluding the first half with the electronic marking 33 to 24 favorable to the locals.

The third quarter turned out to be a real catastrophe for local interests. The Macedonian player of the visiting team was increasingly involved in the match and managed to make the differences in this third period. Little by little, Maristas Coruña was cutting the difference on the scoreboard, turning the match around before reaching the middle of the quarter. Jesús García tried to find solutions to the low performance that his players were giving, especially the low percentage of success in two-point shots. Although the difference reached seven points for the Galicians, at the end of the third quarter the scoreboard reflected a 44 to 49 for the peninsular players.

It was not the first time that Magec Tías "Against Gender Violence" had problems in the third quarter and managed to solve them, but the sensations of improvement did not arrive in the last stretch of the match. The Coruña team lived comfortably with the income they had in their favor, in a thick, rough and failing match where the victory would finally fall on the side that made the fewest mistakes.

When the difference seemed insurmountable, the Lanzarote coach requested his last time out in search of the definitive reaction of his players, to whom he asked for more intensity and defensive concentration. It worked. Magec Tías "Against Gender Violence" was cutting on the scoreboard until reaching the last seconds of the match with a difference that could be solved in a single basket, which did not happen, with Maristas Coruña winning the match by 56 to 59.

The red and black team is currently seventh in the standings with 10 wins and 12 losses. Next week they must visit Bosonit Unibasket, a team that has one more victory than the islanders.
