The players of Magec Tías Against Gender Violence, under the direction of Cristo González, achieved a resounding victory against Vega Lagunera Adareva in a match dominated from beginning to end. The Lanzarote team of Women's League 2 showed an intensity and placement on the court that allowed them to control the match practically in its entirety.
From the beginning, Magec Tías was more intense and better positioned on the court. The solid red and black defense prevented the locals from achieving quality baskets, and the difference on the scoreboard reached 10 points before the Laguneras managed to score, after the halfway point of the first quarter. With a score of 7 to 20, the second quarter began.
The Lanzarote team maintained their strength, not allowing their rivals to take the initiative. The inside game of Verónica Matoso and Yaiza García caused many problems for the Lagunero team. At halftime, the difference was remarkable, 16 to 39. Despite the advantage, the coach of Magec Tías, Cristo González, insisted that the players maintain concentration to avoid surprises.
In the third quarter, although the advantage was wide, the Tenerife team started better, increasing the intensity from the beginning. An 8-0 run gave them hope, but the quick intervention of the Magec Tías bench allowed their players to regain control and correct the errors in free throws. The disconnection only lasted five minutes, and the Lanzarote team returned to their level of work. Although they lost the partial of the quarter by 12 to 9, the total advantage was still 20 points heading into the last quarter.
In the last partial, the visitors increased their intensity and precision, leaving Vega Lagunera Adareva without options, winning by 43 to 70. Verónica Matoso and Iranzu Drake stood out with 22 points of valuation each and 13 points in scoring. The coach of Magec Tías took advantage of the match to rotate many players and give them minutes to unite the team for the upcoming matches.
It is worth noting the good work of Magec Tías Against Gender Violence, as well as the effort of Vega Lagunera Adareva, who showed perseverance despite the distance on the scoreboard. This victory, the third of the season for the Lanzarote team, allows them to climb to fifth position, with the same number of defeats as games won.
